LIVING FROM THE INSIDE OUT
The lifeless form received its breath and was given life - the breath of God, the life of God.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! (Psalm 150:6)
As time ticks on, the demands of life tug for our attention. Some, even win over our affection. We are constantly drawn by the next phase of life, which is always a step beyond our awareness, beckoning us toward it. Because there is so much to fit into our days our life becomes a highway, a broad road that allows for much traffic and speed. Our instinct and intuition are then trained to navigate this road, dulling the voice of the eternity that is in our hearts.
If we just stop and take a breath, we will find that something deep is calling. The pause, the breath, the inhale, the exhale, and taking a moment to praise the Lord, will allow our intuition to wake up, and our instincts to revive. To give thanks to God reshapes our perspective and our priorities.
The instincts we have are the learning we are born with, and our ability to listen deeply and understand is the intuition we have been gifted with (Job 38:36 TLB). Redemptively, God awakens something in us, points us to Jesus, and invites us onto the narrow path, which is only accessible through the doorway of Jesus Christ. On this path, we will find life and life abundant. Not on the broad road, where so much seems to be available to us. The narrow road holds so much more. More meaning, more value, more purpose, more peace …more praise!
Our new priority and perspective show us that we now live life from the inside out and not the outside in. We live from the Kingdom that is in us and allow this life to flow out of us into the world. With every breath of praise, the life of God will cover the earth.
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14
This is Kingdom living.
